Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarship
The Tim Fleming Memorial Scholarship honors Tim Fleming, an outstanding engineer and community leader who had a positive impact on communities in Northern California before passing away at the age of 51. A graduate of UPO and Stanford, Tim exemplified leadership, integrity, and character. He was an active member of the ACEC Sierra Chapter and APWA Sacramento Chapter. This scholarship supports students at three institutions who are carrying on Tim’s legacy of scholarship and community service.
Eligible Applicants: Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year or graduate students majoring in civil engineering or a transportation-related field at the following universities: University of California, Davis; Cal State University Sacramento; or the University of the Pacific.

Pat Weston Memorial scholarship

Criteria/ Eligibility: The California Transportation Foundation (CTF) and the California Department of Transportation, Planning programs are offering one $850 scholarship to full-time Caltrans employee. The employee must be employed with Caltrans for a minimum of six months, and must be pursuing a degree in Transportation Planning or a related field.
This scholarship is intended to recognize, encourage, and assist an outstanding Caltrans employee who are pursuing a Baccalaureate or Graduate degree in planning or a related field. To apply the student must meet the following criteria:
Working towards a baccalaureate or a graduate degree in Transportation Planning, Urban Planning, or City or Regional Planning. Related fields of studies such as: Urban or Regional Studies, Public Policy, Public Administration, Environmental Policy or Studies, Geography, Sociology, Political Science, Landscape Architect, or Economics will also be considered
Must have worked for Caltrans for a minimum of six months
Student must have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better
Recipients cannot receive more than one award from this scholarship
Pursuing a career at Caltrans in Transportation Planning after graduation

J. Roberts Memorial Scholarship

The California Transportation Foundation (CTF), a nonprofit organization, announces seven $1,500 scholarships: the James E. Roberts Engineering Scholarship for the 2020/2021 academic year. Applicants must be in their senior year of a California high school and interested in pursuing a college degree in civil engineering. The award of the scholarship is based on the applicant’s commitment to a career in transportation, current job skills, academic record, and specific goals and experience. Financial need may be considered, but it is not a primary factor.
Applicants must meet the following general criteria:
Must be a United States citizen, permanent resident, or documented international student.
Must be in his/her senior year of a California high school.
Must intend to enroll in civil engineering curriculum at a California college or university.
Must plan to pursue a career in transportation after graduation.
Must exhibit community and school involvement.
Must provide an official transcript.
Must provide a sealed letter of recommendation.
Work experience and/or volunteer experience may be considered
Seven awards available, $1500 each.
